Going to Monterey was even less painless and upgraded in place with no major issues. I only needed to disable one default quirk (DisableRuntimeDefrag I believe) and everything worked without issue. Was able to then update in place painlessly. First I updated Clover to the latest version, then set up Quirks. It seemed to work well enough so for now I'll be sticking with Clover.
